DESCRIPTION
Ponti-Fornasetti amusements would flourish in the fifties in many ways. After the first black and white decorations (on the walls of the Dulciora shop and on the fronts of Ponti's neoclassical trumeaux), Fornasetti turned now to colour, stamping with colored images (hundreds of them) all the surfaces of Ponti's rooms and pieces. In the Casino rooms in San Remo, designed by Ponti, Fornasetti imprinted small and giant playing-cards, hundreds of them, on sofas, armchairs, curtains, ceilings and walls (on the walls and ceilings the flying cards are set in luminous cavities). In the Vembi-Burroughs offices in Genoa and Turin, designed by Ponti, Fornasetti imprinted pens, pencils, sheets of paper, computers, on chairs, armchairs and sofas. On the other hand Ponti, when publishing these works of his, pointed out, first of all, the elegant new materials used: anodized aluminium, PVC lining, rubber flooring; the Fantastico P., new Pirelli rubber flooring, was designed by Ponti.
